- Magnets and nylon weatherstrip around the edges of the flaps hold flaps in place and keeps out weather & bugs but are easy for pets of all sizes to use
- Locking cover provides security as it shock and impact resistant. Secures with a steel pin lock (optional Secondary Exterior Cover for exterior or door).
- Made in the USA
- 5-year limited manufacturer warranty
Options:
- Flap Size: The Door Model is available in 12 standard sizes shown in the chart below. For detailed sizing instructions, please see the "Sizing Guide" tab at the top.
- Flap Type: Our Door Model comes standard with double flaps for improved insulation and energy efficiency. In some situations (i.e. installing in an interior door) you may choose to install a single flap model. If you do choose a single flap, it will be installed on the exterior frame of your pet door.
- Frame Color: Arizona Beige -- hard-coat paint, looks like coffee with a couple of creamers added. Brushed Aluminum -- anodized metal, satin nickel color, looks like the bottom of a Coke can. Dark Bronze -- anodized metal, chocolate brown, looks almost black in dimmer light. White -- white hard coat paint
- Door Thickness: Most doors are between 1 3/8" and 2" thick and our door model is designed to easily fit these doors. If your door is thicker than this, please order our Wall Model. If your door is between 5/8" and 1 3/8", you can still order our standard door but the door will need to be modified. You can order an optional buildout to add to your installation that will space the door frames the correct distance apart. Please add 10% to the cost of the door for a buildout.
- Security Cover Load Direction: The security cover comes standard on our models as an interior top-load version. On occasion, there will be an obstruction above the pet door that prevents the security cover from being raised up far enough to remove. In those instances, we provide an optional side load model with your choice of left or right side slide (Load direction is determined when looking at the door).
- Secondary Exterior Cover (optional): Choose this option if you would like a second cover on the exterior of your door pet door. This cover does not come with a pinlock unless purchased separately. NOTE: Choosing this option makes your door pet door a "custom" pet door for return policy purposes and entitles you to 50% credit towards the purchase of a new dog door should you need to return your pet door for any reason.
- Rain Cap: The raincap is a Free option and part of Hale Pet Door's water containment and diversion system to help prevent moisture intrusion into your pet door. This awning like attachment hooks onto the top edge of the outside frame and helps protect from water intrusion into the pet door itself and therefore into your house. The rain caps are available in our four standard frame colors and will be supplied to match the exterior pet door frame.
- Training Flap: The training flap is made of a similar material to our regular flap but it has no strikes and has been vertically slashed several times to make it very easy to push through. It does not, however, provide the energy efficiency of our regular flap and should only be used until your pet is used to using the door.

How to Measure Your Pet
There are three measurements to take into consideration when choosing the correct size door for your pet, the following guidelines will help you get accurate measurements. If you get stuck or need any help please contact us, our experts are ready to help.
#1 - Measure Width – Simply measure your pet at the widest point and add an inch or two for safety. If your pet is long-haired, don’t forget that this may make them appear wider than they really are. Alternately, you can open a door just wide enough for your pet to pass through and measure the width of the opening, again adding an inch or two for safety.
#2 - Measure Height – The pet door flaps should be at least an inch or two above the top of your pet’s back not the head. To get this length, measure your pet from the withers (top of the shoulders) to the floor. Remember that your door won’t be placed completely at floor level.
#3 - Measure Rise – This measurement is only applicable for panel models which come with the rise built-in. Door, wall, screen, and window models can be mounted at whatever height is comfortable for your pet. If you have a short-legged dog or an older dog that can’t lift his feet very high, or if the door is installed with a step on either side, consider ordering a “no rise” door. Our standard rise is 5” or 10”.
Alternate method: You can also make a sample door opening out of a large piece of cardboard based on the above size chart. Place it in a door opening and experiment with height placement. Order the size most comfortable for your pet.

Other Considerations for Choosing the Correct Door Size
Older pets don’t like to use pet doors that are uncomfortable. Make sure you get a door that your pet will always be able to use. If you currently have a kitten or puppy, remember that they will grow.
Mount the pet door so that it is low enough for your pet to comfortably step over. Young pets can raise their legs up to their chest but older pets may have trouble with this.
Make sure the pet door is tall enough for your pet. Hunching over can be hard on your pet’s hips, especially as they age. And the flaps on your door will last longer if your pet isn’t rubbing against the top of the door as he passes through.
If you have more than one pet, make sure you get a door that will work for all of them: low enough for the shortest one to step over but tall enough for the tallest one to fit through comfortably.
Don’t forget that your pet needs access from both sides of your pet door. If you are installing the door in an area that has steps outside, please take into consideration how your pet will have to get through the door. This is especially true of our panel models. They have a standard rise of 5” but can be ordered with no rise (actually about 1” of frame to step over) instead to make it easier for your pet.

This is literally the best product I have found. Best quality and so easy to instal.
I just put it in by myself. Very easy and so nice. I will never buy another brand again. The wind is blowing and the flaps are not moving at all.
Seriously 😊 Thank you so much.
Adeo pets was so great to work with, incredible service. I had a question and needed to make a change to my order, they were super helpful and made the change for me very quickly. The Hale dog door arrived just a few days later, it felt very strong and well built; and they even had a local service I could use to get it installed for me fast. Thank you, very happy with the new dog door!!
Purchased the Hale Pet Door for two Corgi's. Install was under an hour, very durable. Should last years to come.
Overall great quality. I haven’t gotten it installed yet, but AdeoPets gave me information on a company nearest me that specializes in Hale doggie door installations. Both company’s customer service has been superb! The AdeoPets representative I chatted with online personally emailed me a follow up message several times regarding the status of my order and even assisted me with changes in the size of my doggie door after the order was placed! Only issue was the amount of time it took to receive the door (about a month), but that was likely due to the change in order as well as COVID-19 delays, so that’s understandable. Excellent quality and customer service though, would highly recommend!
